On 16. – 17. October, the international conference entitled " 10 years under the logo of SlovakAid " took place at the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs, under the shield of the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Miroslav Lajčák. Two-day conference was dealing with the current issues and challenges for development cooperation in Africa, the Western Balkans and the Eastern Partnership countries. The EU Development Commissioner Andris Piebalgs, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Trade of the Republic of Kenya Amina Mohamed, the ministers of foreign affairs of Moldova and Macedonia, but also other important foreign leaders of the development scene accepted the invitation of the Slovak Deputy Prime Minister. Experts from Slovakia and abroad were given space to search for innovative ideas and new visions for the Slovak development agenda, with an emphasis on formulating challenges and opportunities for the Slovak presidency of the EU Council in 2016. Two days of discussion panels were held on various topics associated with development. Individual blocks were oriented to specific regions, which are considered as territorial priorities - Western Balkans, Africa, the Eastern Partnership countries and the countries of the Southern Neighbourhood. In addition to development assistance and support programmes, speakers were concerned with the issues of active involvement of the private sector and as well as the role of education in the international development.
